Annoying ads!

I honestly didn't notice ads as much before as i did right now while i was looking for them. I think i never notice them because i try to ignore them because i think its ridiculous that every website you go on there is an ad about something completely random. But when i do notice them there not helping there business because they just get in my way or keep popping up and annoy me. This makes me not even want to consider buying there product because i always remember how mad it made me when it kept showing up when i was trying to get something done. I think the only online adds that should be allowed are little side bar ones, that don't necessarily get in your way but you could maybe just glance at them and notice the brand. Other then that i think the online adds are worthless and annoying.

Cool Hunting

I thought it was very weird that cool hunters search for people and trendsetters to find something for teenagers to follow. I don't think that is necessary for them to do that because in the long run they are finding teens that set trends, then putting it in the media, and then we copy a trend that was already going around. It surprises me that there are people who's jobs are to find what they think teens will think is cool.

I think that Big star, BKE, silvers, and other name brand jeans really targets teens. When you walk into buckle(even when I'm with my mom) they run straight to me and start asking me my sizes and having me try on jeans. They don't even acknowledge that my mom is there. They want there jeans to be on all the teens, boys and girls. They try to tell you that they fit so much better then jeans from American eagle or hollister. They make you feel like you will look so much better in there jeans.

My favorite advertisment!

In this add it is advertising Frosted Flakes Cereal. The slogan on the box is they're GRRREAT! It is very obvious because there advertising is usually on the box or on the commercial where they sing a song about frosted flakes and how they're great. I like it because it has always been my favorite cereal and i remember singing to the commercial when i was little because i loved it that much. Its a slogan that i can always remember and then i hear the little song in my head and i just know that its Frosted Flakes.

My heroic experience

The most heroic thing i ever done was not a huge thing, and i didn't become a celebrity over night because of it. One day i was driving and i was on my way to a party when i saw a car pulled over on the side of the road with the emergency lights on. I noticed that it was just a few teenagers, so i decided to help. They were out of gas and couldn't get a hold of anyone else to pick them up. So i decided that i would drive them to one of there houses so they could get a gas tank and then drive them back to there car. It wasn't a huge thing but they were very appreciative that i took my own time to stop and help them. I didnt really think about it at all. The only thing that i thought about was to make sure it wasnt a creepy man, and once i found out it wasnt i immediatly turned around to help. It was mainly instinctive because i knew that if i was in there position i would really need the help.

35W Bridge collapse

This picture of the 35W bridge collapse really sticks in my mind because it was so close to home. It could have been me, my friends, or my family. It was a scary tragedy that happened in Minnesota(not many things happen here). This picture specifically sticks in my mind because of the school bus. It just freaks me out that all those kids just on the bus could have all been seriously injured or killed, but luckily they were far enough back to stop in time.

How guys are Portrayed

Guys are always displayed as big macho tough guys. They are always showing bad behavior and acting irresponsibly. They drink and party and always get into fights. They are shown like horrible people, and most guys arn't completely horrible. A lot of guys are not ripped, a lot of guys can be sensitive and they can make good choices. Yes sometimes they probably act irresponsibly but so does everyone especially when your a kid in high school. I think we need to stop showing guys as big tough mean guys because that's not all that is in existent, and the jerk stereotype is getting really boring and super annoying!
