Media History Unit 1

So far in media lit we have been talking about the history of media. We have learned about how Johannes Gutenberg invented the first printing press. This invention helped people learn to read, by learning how to read people could start to form there own beliefs by what they read. We also have learned about how different the first computers are to now. Back then the computers were only for scientists and now anyone can have a computer, and the old computers used to be the size of a living room! The technologies back then have changed so much sense now. When the Internet first came out you could search for basic things otherwise you wouldn't find any information because people weren't putting information on the Internet and now you can search anything and find anything. The media has come a long ways.

My impression of Media Lit

My first impression of media lit was that i was going to really enjoy it. I'm not a pick up a book and read type of person so i was very glad to hear that this was going to be way different then the normal English class. I think its fun that we basically discuss whats going on right now in the media. I actually like coming to school to learn about that, not like Caesar or something that from previous classes. I'm excited to see what topics we end up discussing and learning.
